Amazing! Peugeot 504 In Grand Style

The sign of a better life for some African homes back in the day was the ownership of the Peugeot 504. To some it is a cherished inheritance from their fathers.

Perhaps the manufacturers too have this sentimental attachment to the Peugeot model. In countries like Nigeria, Peugeot 504 are often used in driving schools alongside the Volkswagen.

Just like the Volkswagen was modified to fit into modern tastes, Peugeot is ready to give the Peugeot 504 lovers a brand new adventure.
Report says that the car will retain its vintage shape but will now have a modern and sleek interior touch.

According to Wikipedia, the Peugeot 504 is a mid-size, front-engine, rear wheel drive automobile manufactured and marketed by Peugeot for model years 1968-1983.
Modifying the features of Peugeot 504 is indeed great news for Africans especially. For one, the car model appears to be tailor made for locations with rough-terrains. Such countries like Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Benin, Kenya and Nigeria.

Did you know that over 3 million Peugeot 504 models were manufactured in Europe?

It was a global success with licensing arrangements in several countries. Records show that about 27,000 were assembled in Kenya and 425,000 assembled in Nigeria up to the year 2006.
In 1969, 504 was awarded the European Car of the Year. It was the go-to car as far as efficiency and aesthetics were involved. It was a piece of classy sedan.

The governments of many countries have contracted Peugeot overtime for the use of the 504 for their official cars.
Iran for instance also used 504 as a “working class status symbol”.
In 2010, the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was to auction off his 1977 Peugeot 504 to raise money for charity.

The car which has a sky-blue interior and has covered only 37,000 km from the moment of its procurement landed a super-stunning bid of $1 million in January 2011. By March the auction was sealed with a $2.5 million bid.
