A boy grew his hair out for two years and stuck to his plan to help children with cancer

A 10-year-old boy from Maryland did something beautiful for children with cancer.

Two years ago, Thomas Moore saw a video his mother Angie Pulos was watching about a girl named Kyssi Andrews, who lost her hair to cancer, BuzzFeed News reported. That’s when Thomas decided to grow out his hair to help Andrews.

Pulos then told Thomas how chemotherapy affects hair loss and what cancer does to the body, 24-year-old Amber Ray, the boys aunt told BuzzFeed News.

Ray said that Thomas grew his hair and “just wanted it to be long enough to make the girl feel happy.”

Ray told BuzzFeed News, that as his hair grew longer and longer, they’d cornrow it. She said that Thomas wanted to stop growing his hair many times but would remember why he was doing it in the first place.

After two long years, Thomas finally finished growing out his hair and got it cut on Saturday.

Ray posted photos of Thomas’s long hair, along with a photo of him holding his hair after the cut.
Ray told BuzzFeed News, “he said he felt good about it and hoped it would make other people happy.”

According to Ray, the hair he donated was enough for three wigs.

  1. Since human hair develops at a rate of around ½" every month you can envision these wigs will be more costly than those commonly made of manufactured filaments. blonde wig
